Summer, and mask it!
Updated: Oct 8, 2021

Whether you've been able to get an 'oh so sacred' hair appointment in Ontario this summer or not, summer will always pack a punch of sad and dehydrated hair!
The heat, the sun and the pool/ lake water, can all have undesired lasting effects on your hair and skin. And we have a few tips to for your optimal summer hair while enjoying Ontario's favourite season.

Protect
There IS such thing as a hair leave-in with UV protection. Also hats go along way, really. Same as we want to protect our skin from the sun, especially in these hot summer days. Spending too many hours in the sun with out protection, can dry out your hair and skin.
Cleanse
Chlorine and lake water will leave a residue on your hair. Once and awhile its not that big of a deal, however, if hanging poolside or lakeside this summer, a gentle cleanser will help remove it. We want to remove this residue for two reasons:
So that the chlorine doesn't dry out your hair, especially after heating your hair up with the sun.
If you have a residue on your hair, your hair is less likely to absorb any moisturizing products you might put on.
Hydrate
Hydrate after you dehydrate! Your hair, skin and body all dry up when soaking up the hot, hot sun. Use a hydrating mask, moisturize your skin and drink lots of water. Eat healthy meals and rest up.
